Description:

Provide oversight and control to a process for building X-ray tubes and similar products. This engineer will primarily focus on working with the development group to transition new products into production. Engineer will be responsible for bringing in processes that are optimized for quality and volume manufacturing. Key considerations will be tooling, measurement system analysis, process capability, final documentation, training, and cost optimization.

Duties:

• Uses problem solving and decision making tools to analyze a situation and determine the best course of action.

• Gather raw data and process that data into a meaningful form using tools such as flow charts, Pareto charts, control charts, etc.

• Report and present data effectively in meetings

• Document processes and tests

• Use understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles and practices to identify potential problems with engineering designs and processes and then improve them.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical engineering

• Six sigma and/or lean manufacturing training preferred

• Wire bonding, testing, chemical cleaning for high vacuum experience desired

• 8+ years experience in process engineering: Understands process capability and variability and able to create a DOE matrix and interpret the results

• Hands-on engineering

• Strong statistics back ground preferred

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal

• Work well with teams. (engineers, operators, managers)

• MS office skills

• Demonstrated ability to take development projects and transition them to a high yielding production process.

• Demonstrated ability to create and utilize FMEAs

• Knows electronics manufacturing: soldering, wire bonding, high vacuum processing and assembling, sensitive electronic testing, etc.

• Able to identify potential problems when transitioning to volume production.

• Technical writing skills

• Demonstrated ability to work with a team
