| The Data Engineer works closely with data analysts to implement conversion code. In addition to fulfilling on our services projects, Data Engineers build reusable tools to allow future projects to be done more efficiently.
Because every project is different with its own set of complications, the successful candidate needs to be able to adapt to new situations quickly. The engineer should be someone who enjoys challenges and building software solutions to overcome those challenges.

Duties: |
| * Analysis of data and database schemas
* Building & Testing conversion code
* Building new or enhancing existing tools to support ongoing data conversion efforts (C#, .NET 1.1-3.5, ADO.NET
* Communicating with internal and external team members about technical aspects of project
* Basic database administrative tasks (backup, restore, installation) of numerous types of database

Qualifications: |
| * B.S. in CS, CSI or IT or working towards their degree and looking for an internship or equivalent relevant experience
* 0 – 3 years experience
* Structured Query Language (SQL) ability essential
* Experience building applications with the .Net framework (1.1 - 3.5)(C# Preferred)
* Experience writing non-database specific data access code a plus (ADO.NET)
* Basic Database Management (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access, etc)
* Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
* Ability to work both independently and in groups and be able to set goals based on shifting priorities
* Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with technical as well as non-technical customers
* Ability to analyze and debug issues
* Experience with public safety software a plus.
