Description: | | Operates and maintains Reliability Lab and serves as a key MOXTEK resource on Reliability Testing including Accelerating Testing, Stress Testing, and MIL-HDBK-217/MIL-STD 975M type predictions | Duties: | - Analyzes preliminary engineering-design concepts of MOXTEK products to recommend design or test methods for attaining customer-specified operational reliability, using knowledge of reliability engineering and other technologies
- Analyzes preliminary quality plans and develops reliability engineering program to achieve customer reliability objectives.
-Analyzes projected product utilization and calculates cumulative effect on final system reliability of individual part reliabilities.
- Develops failure mode and effect analyses (FMEA's), Fault Tree Analysis, etc.
- Develops mathematical models using computer-aided engineering equipment, to identify units posing excessive failure risks and support proposed changes in design.
- Enters data to simulate electrical inputs, transient conditions, temperature, stress, and other factors to develop computer models, and analyzes and adjusts design to predict and improve system reliability.
- Advises and confers with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations.
- Determines units requiring environmental testing and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
- Reviews subcontractors' proposals for reliability program and submits evaluation for decision.
- Reviews engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements.
- Manages internal reliability testing program and evaluates reliability factors, such as numbers and causes of unit failures.
- Monitors failure data generated by customer using product to ascertain potential requirement for product improvement
- Assists Quality Engineer with statistical analyses including Measurement System Analysis (MSA) / Gauge Reliability and Repeatability (Gage R&R) Studies, Design of Experiments (DOE), Sampling Plans, etc. | Qualifications: | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Statistics
Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) by ASQ
Ten or more years of Reliability Engineering experience in Product Design and Manufacturing environment
Competency with Reliability Software and Analytical Tools (statistics software)
Experience with Accelerated Life Testing or Reliability Stress Testing.
Familiarity with reliability analysis and tools, FRACAS, FMEA, DOE and MIL-HDBK-217/MIL-STD 975M Predictions.
Strong statistical analysis skills.
Ability to build and leverage partnerships and implement change.
Excellent written, persuasion and consensus building, listening and verbal communication skills.
Experience with technical writing and preparing formal reports including word processors, spreadsheets, database management, project management and graphics/CAD software
Commitment to the development and delivery of high reliability products and processes
DESIRABLE:
Six sigma certified
Experience and knowledge in the X-ray field
Commitment to the development and delivery of high reliability products and processes
