| Myriad Genetics, Inc. is seeking a full-time Histotechnologist with a minimum of 2 yrs experience of immunohistochemistry experience. The successful candidate will be part of a research group that combines the fields of histology, pathology and molecular biology in the characterization of various tumors. Qualified applicants must be familiar with routine histology including specimen processing, embedding, microtome, staining and immunohistochemistry. Additionally, a working knowledge of all histology procedures-embedding, microtome, tissue processing, fixation, decalcification, routine staining and immunohistochemistry-is required. Qualified applicants will be familiar with all equipment and instruments. |
Duties: |
| The Histologist will be responsible for various techniques involved in the development of IHC protocols for research anti-bodies used on human and mouse tissue for the interpretation by the pathologist. He/She will also be responsible for producing high quality microscopic slides; cutting formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded and frozen tissue blocks for various molecular research projects. Additional duties include laser capture micro-dissection, fluorescent insitu hybridization and scanning of slides into the Aperio imaging system. |
Qualifications: |
•Bachelor of Science Degree
•HT/HTL (ASCP) certification
•Experience with the following:
o Optimizing Antibodies
o Manual and Automated Immunohistochemistry
o Special Staining
•Proficiency with the use of micro-tome and cryostat equipment
•Capable of analyzing tissue microscopically to determine quality of staining
•Proficiency with troubleshooting staining inconsistencies
•QICH preferred but not required
