| The ideal candidate will work as a database administrator on a team providing day-to-day support, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting for Oracle 10g R1 and Oracle 10g R2 High Availability Databases for MediConnect. This position would include upgrading the current 32-bit 10g R1 Oracle database to 64-bit 10g R2. |
Duties: |
Install & Configure Oracle Database, Enterprise Manager, and Standby servers
Working closely with MediConnect lead data analyst to create custom reports from SQL Server and Oracle for internal and external clients.
Perform Database Configuration Management Tasks.
Plan & Perform Oracle Application and Database Upgrades.
Establishes procedures and guidelines and recommends policy to create, modify, delete, purge, achieve and recover files.
Periodic Testing & Review of Backup and Recovery Strategies.
Perform Database Back Up, Repairs & Recovery
Monitor System Resource Usage (Memory, CPU, Drive Space & I/O) & Event Logs
Monitor Database Resource Usage (Device Space, Concurrent Users) & Error Logs
Monitor Database related auto-scheduled or Cron Job Logs
Provides second level support and troubleshooting for Oracle Database issues.

Qualifications: |
Ten (10) years overall database administration experience including a minimum five (5) years Oracle database administration experience in Microsoft Windows operating system environment.
Knowledge of Oracle 10g R2 and10gR2.
Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Knowledge of full back up and recovery procedure and best practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
The ability to work on a variety of tasks in parallel, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong demonstrated troubleshooting skills, and ability and willingness to identify and implement innovative solutions to problems will be vital for success in this position.
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
Oracle10g certification is a plus.
