The Utah Technology Council is seeking a proven Business Development and Chief Value Executive to advance the Council’s:

  • Strategic membership and revenue growth – by adding the next 500 corporate members
  • Articulate, package and deliver on the Member Value Proposition that UTC is the “essential business resource” and “must-join” organization     
  • Accelerate Life Science membership growth and involvement to achieve critical mass
  • Second role:  Increase Government Relations capability by complementing president’s lead role (i.e., proactively track and research industry issues, and work with the State Legislature and other government decision makers to achieve industry’s legislative and Quality Workforce agenda).  Your politics must align with being “market-driven” to achieve the industry’s goals full-time two months of the year and coverage the balance.

PROVEN TRACK RECORD:  Exceptional sales and communications skills which are transferable are a must to further scale UTC’s strong growth and to drive value.   Report to CEO.  Effectively work across functions w/ Council’s high-performance team.  Work closely with its Director of Membership and Executive Director to grow members, investors, sponsors, and deliver compelling member benefits.

REQUIREMENTS:  A successful candidate must be: (1) Self-motivated, proactive and organized to deliver on a demanding and visible workload with many moving parts; (2) Results-driven to better drive value to new segmented members; (3) Superb written skills to establish clear and compelling member benefits that help UTC become an “essential business resource” (e.g., internally connect with members and prospective members through newsletter, website, email, direct mail, and new social media, and externally tell the industry’s impressive story); (4) Excellent and persuasive  interpersonal communicator to further build the community; (5) Trusted and flexible team member; and (6) Committed to “make a difference” in our technology cause including a minimum three-year commitment.
Excellent relevant experience required with advanced degree (MBA preferred) and minimum 10-20 years’ work experience in successful sales management and communications to expand UTC’s executive capacity.  Solid life science (LS) and/or Government Relations experience would be a plus. Market-based compensation will be based on experience and expertise, and achieving performance through commissions and metrics. Good benefits are provided by this non-profit.
